On day 2, we went back into DC and went to the newseum. It is a museum with artifacts of everything dedicated to the history of news. They had just opened an exhibition on the a JFK asassintion. There were movies and memorabilia of his presidency and life. This was the antennae from the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks.
The kids had so much fun reporting the news.
This part I loved seeing. It was part of the Berlin wall and guard house. I remember seeing the news when the wall came down. It made an impact on me at that time when I was little. So seeing it in person was remarkable.
Then I made everyone walk 7 blocks to find the White House. The kids were not sufficiently impressed because they could not meet President Obama. I thought it was cool plus they were mad that I had made them walk so far.
Then we grabbed the metro and took it back to the hotel. I think this was Jared's favorite part of each day.
