Refresher

Last night was our board meeting for primary, I was asked to speak on a scripture in Doctrine and Covenants 4:4. It talks about the field being all ready to harvest and if you thrust in you sickle with all your might you can have joy. (This is just a synopsis.) I was asked to relate that to our children in Primary. As soon as I was asked I rememberd a quote that I heard at BYU given by President Ezra Taft Benson. "For nearly six thousand years, God has held you in reserve to make your appearance in the final days before the Second Coming. Every previous gospel dispensation has drifted into apostasy, but ours will not..... God hs saved for the final inning some of his stongest children, who will help bear off the kingdom triumphantly. Antd that is where you come in, for you are the generation that must be prepared to mee your God...." Make no mistake about it you are a marked generation. This quote was describing my generation and now I have children. I get frustrated with them when they don't listen and argue constantly with each other. However, as I read this quote again. I realized that my children are even stronger and more valiant than i because they have come at a time when the world has sometimes seemed to have gone crazy. Those stubborn personalities will come in handy when someone tries to pressure them to do something that is not what I nor their Father in Heaven wants them to do. So after, this moment of reflection to prepare, I have had my vision cleared of it's cobwebs and am enjoying looking at my children in a new light. Now don't get me wrong I love my kids but sometimes i need a chance to get out of the everyday things and see a new perspective.
